We are excited to announce that our very own undergraduate student, Cristian Sanchez, has been honored with the NASA Iowa Space Grant Consortium Undergraduate Researcher Scholarship! Cristian is gearing up to enable the indoor flight of large-scale swarms of drones, counting over 1000 units!

Cristian will address the technological aspects of the project, ranging from setting up the localization system in our lab to laying down the communication network for drone cooperation. His responsibilities extend to coding and ensuring drones navigate their trajectories safely within the indoor facility.

Throughout the project's span, from August 2023 to May 2024, Cristian will benefit from hands-on training from CAS Lab's dedicated PhD students.

We're ecstatic to witness Cristian's journey in this groundbreaking endeavor and anticipate his invaluable contributions to drone swarm research at the CAS Lab.
